Woolacombe is a fantastic destination for those wishing to bring their dog on holiday, with pet friendly pubs and cafes, long walks and a range of self-catering dog friendly properties for you to choose from.
We love dogs, and so do our property owners, so rest assured that your loyal friend will be well catered for.
Our dog friendly cottages in Woolacombe can include a comfy bed, ideal for after a long day splashing in the sea; an outside dry area, or kennel; a fenced area so the dog can play safely outside without supervision; and also an outside tap and hose to wash off the sand after hours of playing on the beach.
The beach and the sea are a dog’s best friend, and Woolacombe Beach is one of the best, with miles of open sand so the dog can run and play unhindered, with Woolacombe and Putsborough being such a long beach that you can find space even at the height of summer.
Please note that from Good Friday or 1st April until 30th September, dogs are not allowed between a small area at the north end of Woolacombe Beach, and a small area near the rocks at Putsborough Beach.
Why not walk with the dog from Woolacombe to Putsborugh along the beach (just over 2 miles) and then take the high route back, over Woolacombe Down, where you may see the Exmoor ponies. There are sometimes sheep along this walk, so please put your dog on a lead. It is a steep walk to the top of Woolacombe Down, but the views are stunning, and it is often quiet.
After an adventurous day playing with the dog, relax with a drink, or grab some food at one of the pet friendly establishments in Woolacombe, like the infamous Red Barn.
