Venturing out into Morte Point, you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring vistas that stretch toward Woolacombe Beach and Baggy Point. Keep your eyes peeled for Atlantic grey seals, often frolicking near the shoreline.

The Route
Start: Mortehoe Village car park. Grid Ref SS458453
Exit the car park and turn left past the village shop and turn right when you reach the churchyard to take the lane between the church and The Ship Aground pub signpost ‘Coast Path’. Follow the coast path all the way to Morte Point, keeping on the right hand side of the cemetery and through the Morte Point gates.
Continue straight on taking the left hand grass track down the hill. After approx. 400m turn left & join a footpath which will link to the coast path. This path will take you around Morte Point.
When you reach the fingerpost follow the direction of ‘Mortehoe 1/2 mile’
Continue up the slope, making sure you keep the old derelict wall on your left. You will soon reach the point where you entered Morte Point and retrace your steps back to Mortehoe car park.
